21st Birthday Card

It's so hard to believe that my baby girl is turning 21! Where did the time go? Well, one look in the mirror and the answer is staring me in the face lol. My daughter has always loved the sea, beach, ocean, pool, bath, etc. - in fact anything that involved water and you practically had to use the "jaws of life" to drag her away from it! In fact, the joke in our family goes that she must have been a mermaid in her previous life, and so keeping that in mind I made this card for her 21st birthday.
The mermaid is from a 3D decoupage sheet. For the seaweed and the dolphins, I used the negative image from a cut I made with my cricut using the LIAB cartridge. I used sponge daubers to ink them in. I had some starfish and shells buttons that I thought matched this card perfectly, so after removing the shanks, I used pop dots to glue them to the card.
Although it didn't quite come out like I first envisioned it, I'm pleased with the way it turned out, but most importantly, my daughter loved it! :-)
